The Nowendoc River is on the Northern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia. The headwaters of the river rise about four kilometres east by north of The Black Sugarloaf on the eastern slopes of the Great Dividing Range south of Walcha. It flows generally south-eastwards passing near the village of Nowendoc before spilling over the Nowendoc Falls and continuing for a total of about 95 km before its confluence with the Manning River west of Knorrit Flat.
The main tributaries of the Nowendoc River are the Cooplacurripa River and Rowleys River. Previously the Nowendoc River was known as Peel Creek.
Almost the entire length of the Nowendoc River is within the boundaries of Walcha Local Government Area. Most of the country along the Nowendoc River is a grazing area used for rearing beef cattle
